You cannot biohack your way past the inner work

I want to talk about something I see constantly in the wellness space, in my clients, and honestly, in myself at different points in my life.
The people who have every supplement stacked perfectly in a color-tight capsule, schedule red light therapy weekly, get an ice bath before their for 5am workout, know their hormone panels and has a protocol for everything...
Rarely have time for sitting with what’s actually making them feel off.
Sounds familiar?
Here’s the much-too-often ignored truth:
You cannot biohack your way past the inner work.
The Protocol Trap
We live in a world that makes it incredibly easy to throw money at your health. Red light panels, PEMF boards, peptides, hormone replacement therapy, cold plunges, IV drips, you name it. None of these things are bad, there are some genuinely incredible tools out there (and I use more than of this on my every day life).
But here’s what I have been noticing: for a lot of people, the relentless pursuit of physical optimization is also a way to stay very, veeeeery busy. A schedule packed past what any human being could reasonably accomplish in a day.
An ever-growing list of treatments, appointments, and upgrades, that ends up being a beautiful, expensive distraction from the one thing that actually needs attention: every pain, wound, trauma and insecurity.
No amount of peptides can touch your trauma.
Why We Default to the Physical
I get it. Optimizing your body feels productive, it's measurable, you can track it and show results online! There’s a clear goal, and a before and after.
Inner work doesn’t come with an aesthetic dashboard. You can’t put emotional healing on a pinterest board, there’s no supplement stack for confronting the version of yourself you’ve been avoiding. And that’s exactly why it’s scarier.
Sitting with yourself, but like really sitting, without the podcast, the workout, the next appointment to rush to, requires a kind of courage that no biohack can manufacture for you.
But here’s what I know for sure: you are not escaping it. You’re just delaying it.
What Happens When You Do Both
This isn’t an either/or conversation. I’m not here to tell you to throw out your red light panel or cancel your next appointment.
What I’m saying is that the physical and the emotional are not separate categories. They live in the same body. And when you actually do both, meaning when the inner work and the body work happen at the same time, something shifts that you can’t fully explain until you’ve felt it.
You start reaching levels that didn’t feel accessible before. Not because a new treatment unlocked them, but because you finally stopped carrying the weight of everything you’d been refusing to face.
Your nervous system can’t fully optimize when it’s still holding unprocessed pain.
Your body knows and it’s been trying to tell you so.
What the Inner Work Actually Looks Like
I’m not talking about journaling for five minutes before you scroll Instagram. I’m talking about the real thing.
Therapy with someone who actually challenges you. Plant medicine work done with intention and proper integration. Sitting in stillness long enough to hear what comes up when the noise stops. Being honest, genuinely painfully honest, about the patterns you keep repeating and what they might be protecting you from.
It’s not always comfortable but I know it is always worth it.
The version of you that finally feels free isn’t waiting on the next insta health trend. She’s waiting on you to look at what you’ve been running from.
The Question I Want to Leave You With
If you stripped away every protocol, every treatment, every packed calendar item, what would you be left sitting with?
What would change if you stopped outsourcing your healing?
Maybe sit with that one.
