How to Micro-dose
The Importance of Being Guided
- Without a guided micro-dosing experience you’re leaving a ton on the table
- It’s like taking steroids but not going to the gym
- So much is happening in your brain and without a guide it’s not going to stick
- When you micro-dose intentionally you become a powerful creator of your life
- You’re choosing the rewiring, new narratives, and new beliefs
- If you’re not being intentional it’s likely that you’re reinforcing unsupportive beliefs, thought patterns, behaviors, and experiences
- You get to actively engage with the medicine
Best Practices and Recommendations
- These are all suggestions based on research and experience
- You’re an adult, I know you’re going to do what you want to doÂ
- I lovingly encourage you to commit to these recommendations. AND this is not a space of shame or guilt. If you can't or don't stick to all the recommendations, your conscious commitment to new ways of being is what counts - and what the micro-dosing is amplifying and changing within you
- Make sure to set an overall intention
- As well as a smaller daily intention
- Take the protocol sometime close in time to taking action on the texts
- No correct time of day to take it
- At first take it at night
- For some people, the first few days can be emotional so I recommend trying it out in the evening or whenever you are free from obligations.
- Experiment with timing and what you like best
- For some people it’s energetic
- For some people it’s calmingÂ
- Take it on an empty stomach
- If nausea or headache occur - that’s normal
- Take it with food
- These effects should subside after the first week or so
- Give yourself space to feel. And although you will not trip, you may want to call a trusted friend to come over and enhance feelings of safety.Â
- Your mindset is controlling your outcome. Optimize your sense of safety and peace in order to have the best experience.Â
- No drinking/partying during the first 30 days
- Influences your neurochemistry
- Alcohol in particular is used to numb out and avoid emotions
- This process is about feeling your emotions
- Not feeling them won’t make them go away
- I highly recommend at least avoiding it on your ON days
- If you’re a marijuana smoker…
- What kind of smoker are you?
- Space out the weed and the micro-dose
- Create an intentional space when you take your capsule
- Make it a ritual and a ceremony
Important considerations
- You CANNOT micro-dose all the time
- You MUST take a rest period
- If you choose to micro-dose for a month, you will take at least a 2-week break
- If you choose to follow a protocol for 60 days your break will need to be at least a month
- Totally safe to stop taking your micro-dose supplement at any time
- No need to titrate off
- Ladder analogy
- The benefits can be sustained for 6 months - 1 year
- No worries of backsliding
- No risk of tripping
- Many people feel more in control and responsive vs reactive
FAQs
- What happens if I respond to the texts? - You can respond to the texts and use the thread as a journal to keep all your thoughts in one place. You can also react to messages. However, you will not receive a response to your messages as this is a DIY program.
- I think my dosage is too much (or too little) - what should I do? I definitely recommend ordering your capsules based on what you think is your sensitivity level. If the 100 mg is too much you can split the capsule in half, however 100 is the perfect amount for most people who feel they may be a bit sensitive. If you have been on SSRIs for many years or know that your tolerance is a bit higher I do recommend either ordering the 200 mg capsules or taking 2 of the 100 mg. Finding the right dosage can be a bit of an experiment and I encourage you to tune into yourself. I never recommend taking more than 300 mg. If you find yourself becoming very tired during this process that’s a sign that your nervous system has spent too long in the “ON” position and you need at least a week of deep rest.Â
  3. I’m taking other medications - what should I do? I would never tell someone to stop taking their medications and I do encourage people to speak with their doctors and be honest about this process. If titrating off of your medications is something you’d like to do with support please email me at [email protected] and we can discuss the process.
